What the criticism is actually about
We would rather you read this before ordering than discover it on your forearm. Two of the 41 written reviews say the guard is smaller than the buyer had pictured. One of them describes it as light and small enough to feel like a toy. Neither had measured their forearm first, and both left three stars rather than one, which suggests disappointment rather than a defective product.
Three more reviews describe the first fitting as fiddly. That is the straps, and it resolves after one session once you learn to set the middle strap first. Nobody in the corpus reports a strap tearing, a buckle breaking or the plate coming apart.
Both problems have the same fix, and it costs you two minutes: measure the widest part of your forearm and the point just below your elbow before you order.
